Nomination Statement

We highly recommend Jie Li for the A&A Sustainability Graduate Student Award. Jie, a fifth year Ph.D. candidate in architecture, has dedicated herself – professionally and personally – to sustainability. She is completing her dissertation, with a focus on sustainability, and will graduate with a Ph.D. in Architecture this summer. Jie has developed inclusive research examining building energy performance and sustainability. Her dissertation holds promise to make a significant contribution to the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) fields. Moreover, Jie Li builds on her professional and research experience as an inspirational educator and mentor for others pursuing sustainability topics. Jie’s sustainability leadership goes well-beyond the classroom to sustain people and to benefit the department of architecture, College of A&A, and the University. We nominate Jie LI for the A&A Sustainability Graduate Student Award and with our full support.
Respectfully submitted,
Lisa D. Iulo, Professor of Architecture Ute Poerschke, Ph.D.
