Required language plus key resources for job postings and candidate searches.
Materials to assist with A&A searches and to be referenced by department heads/ directors and search committees include:
- Revised text to be included in job postings
- Search committee recruitment spreadsheet template which can be customized and used to encourage committees to develop and keep track of their collective recruitment plans.
- An example of a rubric offered to help committees come to a common objective understanding of how they want to measure candidates in evaluating their qualifications
Two resources provided by Mallika Bose used last year that we ask committee members to review prior to starting their work:
- Faculty search committee briefing from Assoc VP of Affirmative Action Suzanne Adair;
- Chapters 5 and Chapter 6 from An Inclusive Academy: Achieving Diversity and Excellence (2018), by Abigail Stewart and Virgina Valian. The texts are comprehensive and have summaries at the end with the main points.
